Tutorial: Tutorial on Real time Network analytics at 5G Edge

While 5G brings rich capabilities like ultra-reliable low latency (URLLC), massive machine type communication (mMTC) and enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) to help realize diverse industry use cases, there are expectations that 5G will provide unlimited capacity and be intelligent to adapt to user needs. To meet this expectation, the network needs to get intelligent and manage the resources optimally with dynamic deployment topology, optimal placement of network functions and applications associated with a use case based on the situation detection. Cognitive information processing to get situational context awareness, real time analytics based decision making and acting on the situation will be key elements in assuring superior user experience. This tutorial will touch upon recent developments in standards and open source and also explain a practical approach to tap into the real time network analytics to ensure superior user experience.
Subhas Mondal is driving the organization-wide 5G initiative as the chief architect at Wipro limited. Subhas is a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff (DMTS) at Wipro and a Senior Member of IEEE. He is an engineering graduate from IIT Kharagpur in Electronics and Electrical communications engineering. Prior to joining Wipro, he worked for C-DOT as a research engineer and developed a product from scratch for remote switching need.
