Artificial Intelligence and Mobile Communications for Holistic Mobility Concepts

Workshop Background and Motivation

The realization of AI-supported software platforms for disruptive, resource-saving and high-performance mobility concepts, which intelligently combine individual, public, and freight traffic, including transport of communication and energy, for autonomous traffic concepts that will improve mobility becomes an important goal for current and future research and development. Furthermore, this special session on AI for holistic approaches shall foster the interdisciplinary exchange between scientists, engineers, and companies working AI and its potential for improving mobility.
By its nature, AI is a topic for use in nearly every field. In the near future, AI driven products, platforms, and tools will be made available globally for use and integration. It is important that researchers, industry, and users benefit from AI ecosystems to ensure comfort and safety for travelers, shorter travel times, improve systems efficiency, reduce environmental pollution, and allow for easily integrating new developments in the field of mobility. This workshop will address the understanding of approaches and options for solving real world problems in the scope of AI backed mobility.
The AI Workshop has no decision-making authority. It is hoped that workshop discussions will promote beneficial use of AI technologies and motivate the holistic AI usage for mobility use cases.

Workshop Invitation

The IEEE 5G Worldforum (5GWF) is pleased to invite any interested researchers, technology stakeholders, solution providers, and users to participate in a one-day AI Workshop during the 2nd IEEE 5G World Forum 2019 (5GWF’19) and the co-located 4th IEEE 5G Summit Dresden 2019, in collaboration with 5G Lab Germany, from September 30th to October 2nd 2019 in Dresden, Germany.
