Vanessa is currently working on identifying the communications challenges and requirements of integrating unmanned air systems (UAS) into the airspace as the Wireless & Communications Architect for Altiscope, a project within A³, the Silicon Valley innovation outpost of Airbus.
Previously Vanessa was the Communications Subsystem Lead in the Engineering Systems Division at NASA Ames Research Center for small spacecraft missions including BioSentinel, a deep space 6U nanosatellite and the Lunar Atmosphere Dust Environment Explorer (LADEE) which successfully launched in 2013, among contributions to many other projects and collaborations. Before working full-time at Ames, she interned at JPL, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon.
